Blizzard has released an official statement about the newly released World of Warcraft: Forever, which has beaten both World of Warcraft and WoW Classic. Blizzard revealed the new "Classic Plus" experience during BlizzCon earlier this year, and by taking a look at the overall sentiment online and during the reveal, it was clear that this new Warcraft MMO was going to be huge. Now that it has finally launched, World of Warcraft: Forever has proven to be even more successful than anticipated, as officially confirmed by Blizzard. Blizzard Releases New Official Statement on World of Warcraft: Forever's Player Numbers Though Blizzard no longer reveals player numbers, it released an official statement saying that World of Warcraft: Forever is the biggest launch in the history of the franchise by concurrent players and number of returning players. This is huge, as the previous records were held by World of Warcraft's Cataclysm expansion and WoW Classic, with the former selling well over three million copies within the first 24 hours of release and having a total of over 12 million active subscribers between Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm. WoW Classic had over 1.1 million viewers on Twitch, and so many players wanted to log in that there were massive disruptions to service. WoW's infamous Shadowlands expansion was also incredibly fast-selling, having sold almost four million copies on day one. The new Skyborne elves and the Skyborne's Druid forms in World of Warcraft: Forever are part of the Skyborne Pack, which is paid, and it was required to access the beta. Even then, there were almost nine million characters created, long queues, and server issues.
