World of Warcraft: Forever Officially Nerfs Most Played Class Before Launch

World of Warcraft: Forever has implemented significant nerfs to its most popular class just before the official launch. These balance adjustments aim to reshape the meta and ensure a more competitive environment for players starting their journey.

Andrea is an editor at GameRant, where she has been writing professionally about video games for over five years. She became a gamer for life at 8, thanks to a copy of Pokemon Red and her Game Boy. Her passion for RPGs, TCGs, and MMOs was combined with work when she came across GameRant in 2021, when she started her career in video game writing. Andrea has an obscene amount of hours in Path of Exile (almost 8,000 on Steam), over 3,500 hours in Destiny 2, over 1,500 hours in The Elder Scrolls Online, and probably around 11,000 hours in Pokemon games, which she always completes the Pokedex of and tries to fill the shiny Pokedex too. Additionally, she has 100% completion in multiple RPGs of various kinds, like Borderlands 2 and 3, Oblivion (and Oblivion Remastered), Skyrim, and Fallout: New Vegas. She plays MMOs religiously (especially World of Warcraft, Destiny 2, and The Elder Scrolls Online), and she has vast experience of playing and building decks for Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon TCG Pocket, and Disney Lorcana. Andrea has extensive professional experience as a translator and ghostwriter. She has a BA in Psychology from 2015, a Master's Degree in Communication & Translation from 2016, and a Master's Degree in Copywriting & Advertising from 2019. One of Andrea's favorite articles for GameRant is a prediction of Pokemon Violet probably outselling Pokemon Scarlet, which is what eventually happened. One of the articles she's most proud of is about The Last of Us 2's Ellie and the game's perpetual cycle of revenge. Sign in to your GameRant account After massive balance changes to races just a few days ago, World of Warcraft: Forever is now nerfing one of the most popular classes in the game right before launch. The new "Classic Plus" game was first announced at BlizzCon, and its beta ended a week ago, a little over one month after its introduction, with Blizzard now preparing for launch on November 4. As of yesterday, players can also reserve their character names ahead of World of Warcraft: Forever's launch, though someone on Twitter already got Leroy Jenkins. World of Warcraft: Forever Officially Nerfs Hunter Ahead of November 4 Release Image via Blizzard In a new post, Blizzard announced upcoming nerfs to the most played class in the WoW: Forever beta. According to statistics, Hunter was the most played class in the beta at over 15.5% of the total population, with Warrior following in second place at slightly over 12%, and Paladin in third place at just under 12%. Now, Blizzard is heavily nerfing Aspect of the Hawk and Trueshot Aura, effectively making Hunters less powerful and desirable in endgame content. Not only that, but rooting effects from Counterattack, Entrapment, and Improved Wing Clip also share a diminishing return with other root abilities from the group, such as Frostbite from Mages and Improved Hamstring from Warriors. After the race nerfs, Human is the best race in WoW: Forever, most likely, and it's also the most paired with Hunter when looking at data from the beta.
